I started block printing during the quiet months of lockdown, initially looking for a creative outlet, but I fell in love with the craft almost immediately. What began as a simple pastime quickly transformed into a deep personal passion and a whole new career path. Today, as a fully trained woodblock printer, I share that passion with others by running hands-on printing workshops across a wide variety of beautiful venues throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.
One of the things I cherish most about block printing is its incredible accessibility. It is a wonderfully tactile, intuitive medium that can be enjoyed by adults and children of all ages. Over the years, I have had the absolute joy of guiding makers across the entire generational spectrum, literally hosting workshops for enthusiastic two-year-olds all the way up to sharp, creative ninety-year-olds!
As a former teacher, my approach to hosting is grounded in clear guidance, gentle encouragement, and patience. I draw on my background in education to structure each session so that you feel fully supported every step of the way. I break down the techniques into manageable, stress-free stages, ensuring the atmosphere remains relaxed, welcoming, and fun. You don’t need any prior experience or innate technical skill, just an open mind and a willingness to try something new.
To keep the experience personal and ensure everyone gets plenty of individual attention and tailored feedback, standard group sizes are strictly limited to six participants. However, if you are planning a special gathering, a corporate team event, or a private celebration, I also design and host larger bespoke workshops tailored specifically to your group’s needs.
